An historic MOU signing between the DFCDR and NBC TV for Sign Language News Interpreter was witnessed on 28th November 2016 at the Department's Conference Room.

The ten year policy with the vision "Remove Barriers and make Rights Real" is our National Strategy and plan of action for our citizens with disabilities. The signing of the MOU was important to have sign language interpreters during news broadcasts on NBC Kundu 2 Television for the benefit of the deaf. A policy that is inclusive for Deaf Listening impaired to finally understand and interpret daily news.

Present was Minister Delilah Gore, Secretary Anna Solomon, NBC TV Managing Director Kula Nou, Solicitors General Faith Barton Keene, UNDP Country Rep Mr Trivedy, First Lady Lynda Babao, Department divisional heads,media and general public.
